Recommended Roof Rack For 2015 Honda CR-V With Naked Roof

Question:

Thinking about adding factory side rail to new 2015 crv EX. I like the option of being able to remove crossbars when not in use. Can you tell me how they attach? And how easy is it to remove them? Is it just the crossbars that come off or the whole assembly including towers or bases whatever you call them? Thanks

We do have a roof rack that will work for your 2015 Honda CR-V. What we have found is that you cannot have factory side rails added to a vehicle after it has been delivered but we have a solution for you.

I recommend the Rhino-Rack Vortex Roof Rack. This features anodized aluminum aerodynamic crossbars with a rubberized Vortex strip in the crossbar top channel to disrupt airflow for a quiet ride. Along with the crossbars the system uses the Series 2500 Legs that include locks to secure the roof rack to your roof. The third part of this roof rack system is the custom clamps and pads for the roof rack system. These are designed to fit the contours of your naked roof. To order this system you will need part # RRVA137B-2, part # RRRLKVA, and part # DK284.

These are easily installed and removed when not in use. The crossbars have rulers in the channel to help center the crossbars on your vehicle roof.

I have attached a product review video you can check out. I have also included a link to an installation video you can take a look at to see how this roof rack is installed. The vehicle is different but the installation will be similar.

Good morning --I'm interested in the rack system for my 2015 Honda CRV (naked roof installation) and I'm planning on making a purchase of the three suggested components (DK284, RRRLKVA & RRVA137B-2). I'm also interested in a cargo basket, but I'm concerned about the INTERIOR dimensions -- I'd like to have the luggage basket large enough to hold my old-school Sears X-Cargo carrier (52 inches long & 38 inches wide). Are the interior dimensions of the Rhino Basket RMCB02 long/wide enough to accomodate my Sears X-Cargo? Does the Rhino luggage basket come with the necessary mounting u-bolts? If the Rhino RMCB02 Luggage basket interior dimensions are not large enough to house my Sears X-Cargo carrier, do you have any recommendations on another luggage basket to accomplish what I'm trying to do? Thank you.

The interior dimensions of the Rhino-Rack Basket # RMCB02 are 53" long, 37-7/16" wide, and just under 5" tall. Unfortunately it looks like your cargo box is just BARELY too wide to fit inside the basket. Can I ask why are aren't just mounting the X-Cargo Carrier directly to the Rhino-Rack crossbars?

@ChrisR Hi, Chris R -- Thank you very much for getting back to me. I will go ahead and mount the X-Cargo directly; my idea was to take a shot and see if it would fit inside the Rhino rack, to keep it a bit more secure, but now that I know the X-Cargo is just a bit too big, I will mount directly to the racks. Thank you again for your time.
