Troubleshooting RV Coach Steps that Don't Move and Blow Fuse
Question:
We have a 2008 Holiday Rambler Sceptor. Our coach steps will not extend. Tried to change the fuse but it keeps blowing. These steps are the only thing on this circuit. Our first guess is the motor is bad. Second guess is the module. Your thoughts.

Expert Reply:
Most likely the motor is bad. The motor going bad could cause the fuse to blow from over-drawing.
For a replacement motor you would want the part # LC301695. You might make sure that the step isn't damaged mechanically too. If the linkage or steps are bent in such a way that the steps can't move that would cause a fuse to blow too.
