Will a Hopkins Brake Control Wiring Harness Work with a Tekonsha 2030 Mark 12 Brake Controller
Question:
Is Older Tekonsha 2030 Mark 12 Brake Controller Compatible with 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD plug in with 47775 Hopkins connector ?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes, the Hopkins wiring harness 47775 will work with the Tekonsha 2030 Mark 12 brake controller. The brake controller has bare wires and the harness only has a connector on one side. All you have to do is splice the wires with butt connectors, # 05731-5.
The white wire is ground
Black is 12 volt power in
Red is input from the brake switch
Blue is output to the trailer brakes
On a 2003 Chevy Silverado there may be additional connections to make under the hood to make everything fully functional. I have linked a help article explaining this and other parts of the installation.
