Is the 7-Way of the Tow Ready Trailer Harness for 2016 Honda Pilot Same as Honda Trailer Connector
Question:
I would like to install an OEM trailer hitch on a 2016 Honda Pilot and am looking at your Tow Ready 7-way wiring harness part # 118274. Will this 7-way plug fit onto the OEM hitch bracket and line up with the hole in the bumper cover that is intended for this plug? Or, must the plug be attached to the hitch in a different fashion?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The 7-way that comes with the # 118286 is a standard 7-way design that is different from the Honda 7-way harness for your vehicle. This uses a 4-bolt mounting bracket whereas the one that comes from Honda uses a bracket for the 7-way that uses 2 bolts on the bottom of it.
This 7-way will still work and could potentially still fit in the cut out area of your Pilot but it may require modification. The one we offer will also be much less expensive.
