When you say you need to connect to a 6 blade plug, does the plug have 6 flat blades going around the center, and the round pin in the middle? If so, this would be a 7-Way plug.

If your 1999 Toyota Tacoma does not already have a 4-Way plug, you would first need to install wiring harness # 118379.

To wire the Dodge D350 with a 4-Way plug, you could use hardwire kit # 18252. To install the hardwire kit, you will need to use the included circuit tester to determine which wires behind your vehicle taillights are performing which function, and connect the wires from the 4-Way pigtail accordingly.

You would connect the wires as follows:

White: Ground wire, connected to a suitable grounding location on the vehicle frame.
Green: Right turn.
Yellow: Left turn.
Brown: Tail light.

To adapt the 4-Way plugs to a 7-Way, you would need to use an adapter like part # 37185. The adapter plugs into the 4-Way and the additional wires would connect as follows.

White - Ground, connected to a clean metal point on the vehicle frame.
Blue - Electric brakes, connected to the electric brake wire from a brake controller in the cab of the vehicle. If your trailer does not have electric brakes, this wire would not be needed.
Black - 12V power supply, connected to the positive battery terminal with a 40amp circuit breaker, like part # 9510.
Purple - Auxiliary wire, connected to reverse light wire if needed to power trailer reverse lights. This wire can just be tied up if not needed.

If your trailer does have electric brakes, I would recommend using the brake controller installation kit # ETBC7 instead of just the 4 to 7-Way adapter. This kit includes the same # 37185 adapter, as well as the rest of the items needed to complete a brake controller installation.

A good brake controller for your 1999 Tacoma would be the Prodigy P2, part # 90885. There is no plug-in brake controller wiring for the vehicle, so you would use the wire pigtail included with the unit to hardwire the brake controller. You would be able to move the brake controller between the two vehicles by getting an additional wire pigtail the D350, part # 7894, and an additional # ETBC7 kit.

The four brake controller wire functions are:

White: Ground, attached to a clean piece of unpainted metal.
Black: 12v lead, attached to the vehicle's positive battery terminal with a 20amp or 30amp circuit breaker.
Blue: Electric brakes, attached to the blue electric brake wire on the 7-Way adapter.
Red: Stoplight switch, normally located directly off the vehicle's brake pedal.
