Will Exhaust Heat Cause Issues With Hitch Bike Rack Installed On 2011 Mazda CX-7
Question:
I have a 2011 Mazda CX-7. In the pictures for the CX-7, I notice the bike tires are directly behind the vehicles exhaust pipe. Can this cause heat damage to the bicycles rim/tire on a long trip??

When the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 2-Bike Platform Rack, part # HR1450Z, is installed the bike wheel hoops are actually elevated. The bike rack has a 7-inch rise in the shank.
I have attached a link to the installation video for this bike rack on a 2011 CX-7 you can check out. You can see the hitch receiver is level with the exhaust on the vehicle. With a 7-inch rise in the shank you will have no problem with the exhaust heat.
