Thank you for providing the bearing numbers and other part numbers from the repair parts manual for your 1999 Coleman Grand Touring Series Santa Fe 3389 Pop-Up camper. Based on the bearings and bolt pattern for your existing idler hubs, we can determine the correct parts to add electric brakes to your trailer.

The components needed to add electric brakes to a trailer are an electric brake compatible hub and drum, brake assemblies, a brake mounting flange, trailer wiring, a breakaway kit, and a brake controller.

Based on the bearing numbers you gave me, the industry standard bearing numbers that correspond are L44649. This is both the inner and outer bearing used for the axle. For a hub and drum assembly that is compatible with electric brakes and will fit on your trailer axle, I recommend the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-2-2K. This part number includes one hub and drum assembly. The hub and drum assembly has a 5 on 4-1/2 inch wheel bolt pattern and is designed for axles with a 2,000 pound weight capacity.

For brake assemblies I recommend the Electric Trailer Brake Assembly 7 Inch, Left Hand # AKEBRK-2L and Right-Hand # AKEBRK-2R. These brake assemblies will work well with the # AKHD-545-2-2K hub and drum and are designed for a 2,000 pound axle.

If your trailer axle does not have a brake mounting flange, you can use # 4-34 to provide one. This will need to be welded to the trailer axle by a qualified welded.

For trailer wiring, I recommend using the Trailer Wiring 7-Way Upgrade Kit # HS381-9000. This kit will provide you with a 7-way connector for your trailer, a junction box to make the connections between the trailer connector and your trailer's wiring, and the hardware needed to make the connections. To run the wire from the junction box to the brakes you can use the Deka Jacketed 2 Wire # 10-2-1, sold by the foot. You will want to use butt connectors # DW05745-5 to connect the wire to the brake assemblies.

The trailer breakaway kit I recommend is the Tekonsha Push To Test Breakaway Kit # PS50-85-320. This breakaway kit has a built-in multi-stage battery charger and a push-to-test button that indicates if the battery is fully charged, charging, or needs recharged. I have attached an installation video of this breakaway kit for you.

To provide braking signal for your trailer's brakes, you will need a trailer brake controller. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195. This is the most popular brake controller with our customers because it is the most user-friendly brake controller. The easy-to-read LCD display is customizable and allows you to read diagnostics, rather than having to decipher diagnostic codes. I have attached a review video of this controller.

If you do not have a 7-way trailer connector on your 2009 Chrysler Town and Country, you can use the Universal Brake Controller Installation Kit # ETBC7 to provide the wiring, hardware, and trailer connector needed to install a brake controller and provide signal to the trailer's brakes. I have attached the installation instructions for this kit, as well as an installation video of the kit on a similar vehicle to yours.

I have also attached a help article on adding electric brakes to a trailer for you.
