Installing a Trailer Brake Controller on 2014 Ford F-350 with Integrated Trailer Brake Controller
Question:
Can the break controller be placed on 2014 Ford F350 with built in controller? Im not satisfied with built in controller. Can I unplug built in controller and plug in after market controller with out having trouble codes from factory computer? Does this require a special connector? Thanks,

You can certainly install an aftermarket brake controller on your 2014 Ford F-350, however it will throw a code indicated that the integrated trailer brake controller is no longer detected. The dealer can reset the computer on your F-350 to remove the integrated brake controller and it will clear the code.
The trailer brake controller that I recommend is the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Proportional Trailer Brake Controller # 90195. This controller will easily install in your 2014 F-350 with the custom plug-in wiring adapter # 3034-P. The Prodigy P3 is our most popular brake controller. It offers 3 boost levels, 5 storable settings, integrated safeguards to protect you vehicle, trailer, and connector, and an easy-to-read, customizable LCD display.
To install the brake controller, you will need to unplug the factory controller and then plug in the aftermarket controller. I have attached the installation instructions for the wiring adapter and brake controller for you.
