Hitch, Wiring, and Towing Recommendations for a 2016 Toyota Sienna LE AWD

I have 2016 Toyota Sienna LE AWD. I want a trailer hitch appropriate for towing trailer and for hitch mounted items like bike rack. My desires are: - maximizing ground clearance it seems very low with most options. - ease of installation - strength and corrosion resistance - appearance I also need wiring. I see that many options have the flat 4 installed inside and just hung out door when needed. I would prefer a permanently mounted solution like might be provided from factory. I would also like stainless ball in 2 inch. Video of installation of each would be very much appreciated! Thank you

Good news! You came to the right place, I can help you get all the items you need.

The trailer hitch that I recommend for you is the Draw-Tite # 75237. This hitch has a 675lb tongue weight (TW) and a 4,500lbs towing capacity. If used with a weight distribution that towing weight can be increased. The Draw-Tite hitch has a combination of a e-coat and powder coat finish that provides excellent rust protection. But according to your owners manual the gross trailer weight must never exceed 3,500lbs. This hitch will be a round tube and have about 10-3/8 inches of ground clearance. Depending on the size and weight of your trailer and accessories like a bike rack the Curt # C13105 may give you the ground clearance you are looking for with 11-1/4 inches. The Curt hitch is coated with a powder coat which is sturdy and corrosion resistant. The Curt hitch is only rated for 350lbs of TW and 3,500lbs towing, when used with a weight distribution system that will increase to 500lbs of TW and 5,000lbs towing.

Both hitches are no drill applications, but there will be some underbody trimming with the Curt hitch. We have installation videos on from the same vehicle generation but a 2015 model year, I have linked these for your convenience. It is important to note that you will always be limited by your lowest rated item, and in this case it could be the vehicle, this is important to keep in mind when selecting accessories.

There is a lot of specific information about towing with your 2016 Toyota Sienna in the owners manual that you should consult before towing, pages 598 or 9-1 "Specifications" and 210 4-1 "Before driving" in particular should be reviewed.

The wiring harness, I recommend for you 2016 Toyota Sienna is the Tow Ready # 118648. This will provide you with a 4-pole flat connector. This will easily mount to the Draw-Tite hitch since it already has the extension bracket you will only need the # 18144. I have also linked a similar video on the 2015 model for you to check out. For the ball you will need a ball mount, I recommend the # 2753 and for a 2 inch ball that fits this ball mount you will need # 63845. If this ball mount doesn't suit your needs I have linked our 2 inch ball mounts and a Help Article to help you determine which will work for you.
