Hitch Extender Availability To Allow Folding Carrier to Fold Up
Question:
i have a folding hitch plus aluminum carrier but when i attached it together on hitch it is too close to where it is against the bumper not even enough space for the carrier to fold up. how many inches do i need of extended hitch and what else do i need for the hitch as far as screws and pins. thanks!

The shortest hitch extender we offer is the part # C45791 which will give you an additional 8 inches of extension. Without knowing more details about your setup it's hard to say for sure if that would give you enough clearance but I would be wiling to be it is if what you have now almost would fold up.
You should note that when you use an extension like this you end up cutting the capacity of the hitch it is used on in half.
To prevent movement of this extension in the hitch you would want the part # RM-061 and then to prevent the carrier from moving you could use the part # 63232 if it has a hollow shank. If its' solid you could then use the # RM-061 in two places.
