Can a P3 Brake Controller Install in a 2012 Ram 1500 with Integrated Controller
Question:
I have a 2012 Ram 1500 Crew Cab, 2 wheel drive, with a factory installed towing package. The controller is not working correctly and I am looking at replacing it with a Tekonsha 90195 P3 Electronic Brake Control and using a #90885 connector/interface. What I dont know is whether my truck wiring is for a 4 or a 7 PIN connector. Is this something you can tell me from the information I have provided?

If you have a controller already installed on your 2012 Ram 1500 and it worked at one point you would have a 7-way connector. At the rear of your vehicle the trailer connector should look like a round connector like the # PK11893.
To install a P3 # 90195 all you would need is the part # 3021-P which is the same connector used to install a P2 like you mentioned.
