Hitch and Related Towing Items for 2015 Ford Mustang GT with Aftermarket Exhaust
Question:
My BF has 2015 Mustang GT and Borla exhaust installed after. Is there trailer hitch available for it? He was told by someone that regular hitch wont fit. He is kind of mad, he got small Sea Doo boat and thought Ill tow it with my little Juke. Well, he needs to tow it with his car so I am looking for help. You know, he got pissy over suggestions and it drives me nuts. Please help!

Auto makers like Ford cannot test their vehicles with all the possible combinations of aftermarket parts available, such as trailer hitches and specialized exhausts. Installation of one of the light-duty Class I hitches offered for the 2015 Ford Mustang Fastback, such as Draw-Tite # 24928, will require that your boyfriend review the linked instructions for this hitch and determine if the exhaust system he's installed will interfere with installation.
He'll also want to check his owner's manual to confirm the Mustang has the rated towing capacity for the combined weight of his personal watercraft and its trailer. I checked an online manual and Ford rates all the Mustang for a maximum of 1000-lbs towing. Again, he should check his manual to be certain of his car's capacity.
If you are good to tow the PWC, then you'll also need a ball mount # 3594, a hitch ball like 2-inch # 19258 or 1-7/8-inch # 19256, and a wiring harness # 118487 to operate the trailer's lights. I linked an article to help with the wiring installation and also one with basic towing tips.
