Replacement Brake Magnets for 10 Inch Brakes on 3500 Pound Trailer Axles

Question:

I have a carmate with 2 3500lb axles and 4 10inch brakes. I am trying to figure out if my magnets or drums need replacing. The magnets have some scarring. I have attached a picture. My multimeter only reads .025 when I bridge the controller with the wire coming from the rear of the truck. A screw driver barely stays connected to the magnet when brakes are depressed.

Based more on the testing you have done than the appearance of the magnets I would say that they would need to be replaced if there isn't a wiring issue somewhere. You can use your meter to make sure that the proper voltage is on the wiring.

For 1 replacement magnet for a 10 inch brake assembly I recommend # AKBRKR-M10. It comes with a replacement spring and clip also. I have linked a video review of this magnet for you. I have also linked our help article on testing brake magnets.
