Rear Suspension Enhancement for 1997 Ford F-350 Powerstroke Towing 50-ft Gooseneck Trailer
Question:
As of right now truck has a 6 inch lift with 37 inch tires and your curt hitch which had a great and simple install thanks again. But now the truck rear end sags a good amount and I dont think thats safe for steering and possible bumps on the highway to make it worse. So my question is which would be better for the amount of tongue weight Im putting on my truck and it being lifted. I like the idea of the air to adjust it but 5000 lbs doesnt seem like a lot for the length of my trailer. Thanks for any advice or info you can help me with.

It can be tough to tow a goose neck (or 5th wheel) trailer with a lifted truck because you can lose clearance between the bed rails and the trailer nose. Your included photo (thank you) suggests that you have perhaps 3-inches of clearance between the tops of the bed rails and the bottom of the trailer's nose, which is a little less than what we recommend. The linked diagram shows the usual recommended minimum clearance for trailers.
But if you have had no clearance issues and simply want to reduce rear-end sag then I suggest the RoadActive Heavy Duty Active Suspension Kit # RAS3611-HD. This fully-assembled kit installs without drilling or welding and eliminates bottoming out, axle wrap and wheel hop. This kit is designed specifically for vehicles that carry extra-heavy loads.
