Do I have to drill into the frame to install these brackets? I have a 2010 Dodge 3500 short box. If this kit will not work can you tell me the lowest price brackets the will.

The installation brackets you were looking at, part # RP50081 are meant for a Ford F-150. For your 2010 Ram, install kit # RP30035-186 is recommended.

It will be necessary to drill holes into the truck frame to attach the mounting brackets. I will provide links below to the installation instructions for you to review. For the first link, refer to page # 13.

You can also use the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches, item # RP50140-58, to ease the installation and do less drilling into the frame of the truck. This kit will not work with the 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 or 3500 with gas engine and overload springs.

You will have to go with a sliding hitch to allow the trailer to make tight turns. For a trailer 8 feet wide the only bed length that's going to allow 90 degree turns without a slider is a stationary hitch. That being said you have two options.…
