Is it Better to Use B&W Turnover Ball and Companion Hitch or Just a Turnover Ball w/Reese Goose Box
Question:
What is your opinion of the goose box hitch vs B and W companion 5th wheel hitch. Wanted the goose neck ball for other trailers and have the flat bed for other things. New to RV ing so need expert opinion . We are picking up our new Alpine 5ver next week. 3511 RE. 392.. Thanks

When towing a 5th wheel trailer the best hitch for it is going to be a 5th wheel hitch. Using a B&W Turnover ball gooseneck hitch with the Companion 5th wheel hitch is what I recommend. That way you are using the appropriate hitch to tow the trailer, whether it is a gooseneck trailer or the new 5th wheel.
As far as adapters go though the Reese Goose Box such as # RP85FR is excellent and is my top choice if I was choosing an adapter to tow a 5th wheel trailer using a gooseneck hitch so it is a viable option. But if you never know what you might tow in the future you would be better off with the B&W set up. If you can tell me the year, make, and model of the truck and the bed length I can make some recommendations.
