Interior Trailer Lights Not Working When Connected to a 2016 Ram 2500

Question:

Hello, This also is the same question asked about enclosed trailer interior 12v lights inoperable, but for a 2016 Dodge Ram 2500 Turbo Diesel. The trailer also is a 2016 model. I was told that it may be a red wire not connected next to fuse box or a fuse. Ive looked for both, and no such wire was found. As for the fuse, there are so many spare fuse slots, it could be any. Any ideas.

My first question is to what are the interior trailer lights connected? They should be connected to the 12-volt circuit, if connected only to the trailer connector, or to a battery mounted on the trailer. If they are connected to a battery on the trailer, then there is some wiring issue on the trailer somewhere between the lights and switch or the switch and battery.

If they are connected to the 12-volt circuit on the trailer connector only then check the corresponding pin on the vehicle side 7-Way located in the 1 o'clock position using a circuit tester such as # PTW2993. The key on your 2016 Ram 2500 may or may not have to be turned on for the 12-volt circuit to function.

I have not heard of a separate wire needing to be connected on the Ram trucks so it could be a fuse or relay. Make sure that the fuse in location F30 is present and good.
