Is it Possible to Increase Ground on a 2014 Acura MDX Carrying a Cargo Carrier
Question:
Hi I recently purchased an aluminum cargo carrier for my 2014 Acura MDX. I have a 2inch curt receiver hidden hitch that I use for my Thule 5 bike rack and the newly purchased cargo carrier for transporting my large Honda snow blower that weighs 275 lbs. my problem is when I put my blower on the carrier it only has 8 to 10inch ground clearance. This clearance is not high enough with the weight of the blower. The cargo carrier will bottom out just leaving my driveway with a 2inch exiting into street. I see some receiver risers on your website can you point me in the right direction? Thanks

Ball mounts like the part # MT70066 will give you additional 5-1/2 inches of rise, but it also will push the hitch cargo carrier out an additional 8 inches which can at least partially offset the additional rise achieved.
A set of Timbrens part # THROD2 will give you additional rear suspension support which will help with the sag from the weight of the cargo carrier and snow blower. This will help with ground clearance.
