Can Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System with 600 Pound TW Be Upgraded to 800 Pound TW
Question:
I currently have the 600 weight bars and am considering switching to the 800 weight bars. Can I simply switch from the 600 to the 800 bars? I am considering switching from the 600 to 800 pound rated bars for my WDH. I tow with a Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7L v8 I tow a Lance 2285, about 6000 pounds. Ive used this set up for 3 years and about 15000 miles and am satisfied with it. But I wonder if I should move up to the 800 pound bars? Any advice?

You can upgrade your Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System with Sway Control, 10,000 pounds GTW, 600 pounds TW # RP66082 with the 800 pound trunnion bars, # RP22225 to increase your system's tongue weight. The part number includes 1 bar, so you will want 2 in order to upgrade your system.
Since you are happy with your current weight distribution system, upgrading will be a matter of preference. If you are experiencing any sagging in your vehicle now, with the 800 pounds bars the sag should be gone. The one downside is that the higher capacity bars may make your ride stiffer when pulling the trailer.
