Why Doesn't the P3 Brake Controller Show Full Voltage When Tested with Brake Pedal
Question:
Good voltage and current from manual lever but poor from brake pedal. Battery voltage and stoplight voltage ok. Brake voltage set at 12 volts

The P3 brake controller part # 90195 is a proportional controller which means that if your vehicle isn't moving and you try to test the voltage with just the brake pedal you aren't going to get full voltage out of the output circuit. If you want to see more voltage when you test it like this try using a higher boost setting and you should see the voltage spike more. It still won't go to 12 volts though since the controller isn't sensing deceleration through it's internal accelerometer.
It sounds like the controller is working fine though. If you have a trailer I would recommend setting up the controller and testing it out.
