2013 Ford Edge w/ Vista Roof Roof Rack Recommendation

Question:

Looking for a straight answers on this subject. I suspect that Ford warns against racks on the Vista roof simply because operation of the glass will likely damage the roof due to a low profile rack. Perhaps there are other structural concerns I should be aware of. 1. Can factory rails be installed without risk of damage to roof? 2. If so, can bars then be added so long as they are raised above height of the glass when roof is open? Since roof is currently bare, would you make other recommendations? I really like the fit and finish of factory rails as opposed to a clamp on rack sustem 3. I have seen suggestions on this site for 2015 - 2016 applications, but not 2013. Please make recommendations for 2013 with the Vista roof.

For a roof rack that has been confirmed as a fit for your 2013 Ford Edge with the Vista roof the Thule Aeroblade rack part numbers # TH711420, # TH480R, and # THKIT1530 has been confirmed as a fit.

The Thule rack does use the door clamps for installation, but due to the design of your roof this is the only way that is available that will work.

If you contact Ford you can most likely have them install a set of raised rails on the vehicle so that you could go with the Aeroblade Edge roof rack instead # TH7503-TH7503.

I attached an install video that shows how to install this rack on a 2013 Ford Edge just like yours.
