Thickness of the Metal Used for the Demco 6-Hole Adjustable Channel Bracket # DM59602

Question:

Sirs, I am considering to change out my hitch to an adjustable hitch of 12 K capacity, though I will probably never exceed 10K. I need two measurements that are not included in both videos or dimensions. 1. the DM59602 does not state what thickness of steel it is made of, it looks heavier than the 1/4inch of the BDAC5000300. I would prefer 5/16inch or 3/8inch channel. 2. No where is it stated what the depth is from the back of the channel on table to the center of the bolt holes. The measurement I need is with the channel lying on its back as in the video and then measure from the table up to the center of the holes. My hitch is about 12inch long that I would be cutting off, I am trying to see what length the coupler and channel are when assembled. It looks like the channel would add at least 1inch to the 9 1/2inch length of the coupler. That would make it 10 1/2inch overall length when assembled? I am trying to get as close as possible to the original hitch length for the weight distribution system, which may not make a difference if less than 2.

I went out into our warehouse to measure the thickness of the Demco 6-Hole Adjustable Channel Bracket # DM59602 that you referenced and found it to be .36 of an inch thick.

The distance from the back of the bracket to the center of the holes measures 1.43 inches or 1-7/16 inches.
