Is There a Swivel Jack That Has a Handle Catch To Keep Handle Up During Travel

Question:

Hi. I am looking for a swivel up jack with a wheel on it for a utility trailer. The problem I have found is that when I picked up an off the shelf, regular swivel up jack, the handle is not supported in the up position. This somewhat negates the fact that the jack swivels up and out from under the trailer as the handle now hangs down in the breeze. I have seen older jacks where the swivel lock, kind of J looking thing, holds the handle in the up position, but I have not seen a new jack where this is the same as the handles are too short to reach the swivel lock mechanism. Is there a swivel jack on your site that solves this issue? I appreciate all the help and items you have been able to provide throughout the years! Etrailer.com is great! Thank you

I spoke with my contact at Fulton and he informed me that both the Fulton XLT Jack # F141133 and Fulton F2 Jacks, like # F1413040134, have a handle catch to help keep the jack handle from swinging when the jack is stowed.

For a Fulton jack, I recommend the Fulton XLT Swivel Trailer Jack # F141133. The XLT offers a 12 inch lift, measuring 15 inches when retracted and 27 inches when extended. This jack has a lift capacity of 1,500 pounds. The acme screw raises and lowers the jack quickly, traveling 1 inch for every 5 turns. I have attached a review video of this jack for you.

In order to get the handle on your existing jack up and out of the way during travel, I recommend using something like the Softride Soft Hook and Loop Tie-Downs # SR54FR. Though intended for use on bike, these hook and loop fasteners can help bride the distance between your handle and the hook on your existing jack.
