Recommendation for a High-Low Adapter with a Cargo Carrier
Question:
I need a high-low 4inch for use with a cargo carrier, 400 lb max weight, so that the rear lift gate on my 2014 Yukon XL clears cargo on the carrier. What do you recommend?

The high/low adapter you would need would be Roadmaster # RM-048-4, but it's important to keep in mind that using this adapter with a cargo carrier will reduce your tongue weight by 50 percent. If the 400lbs. max weight is the tongue weight of the trailer hitch then it would be reduced to 200lbs. and if you plan to carry 400 lbs. you will need to be sure that your hitch has an 800 lb tongue weight capacity. You would just want to make sure your cargo carrier doesn't exceed this weight limit including the basket itself.
