Repair Parts for a Roadmaster Blackhawk 2 All Terrain Tow Bar

Can the shank be repaired on the Blackhawk II tow bar? Mine started having a lot of lateral play so I just purchased a replacement but now Im wondering if a repair was possible and if I just spent too much money when I could have repaired the old shank? At least I will know the next time this occurs.

There are a few repair parts for the Blackhawk 2 tow bar, # RM-422, but not all components can be repaired. I have included the replacement parts we have available below.
