Weight Distribution and Brake Controller Recommendation for 2007 Nissan Titan
Question:
Hi, I want to pull my 5500lb Haulmark trailer with my Nissan Titan big tow pkg, should be good for 10k lbs- theres so many WD hitches to choose, how much should I really spend? Any best bets? Also, should probably buy a brake controller, again, how much do I really need? Will tow 50 mi 3-4 times a year, rolling terrain Thanks!

There are quite a few different options when it comes to choosing a weight distribution system. Systems that have similar features tend to be similarly priced. The weight distribution system I recommend for you is the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37100ET. This system has a 4-point sway control design to limit side-to-side movement of the trailer, using steel on steel friction to help control trailer sway. With a capacity of 1,000 pounds tongue weight and 10,000 pounds gross towing weight, this system will work well for your Haulmark trailer.
I have attached a help article on common weight distribution questions for you.
For a more budget friendly brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller # TK90160 with the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers - Nissan and Infiniti # 3050-P. Tekonsha makes great quality brake controllers and the Primus IQ is no exception. This proportional brake controller features an easy to read LED display and performs continuous diagnostic checks to inform you of any potential problems. The plug-in wiring adapter allows for easy installation of the controller in your 2007 Nissan Titan.
The port for the brake controller wiring harness in your Titan is located underneath and left of the steering column, and it will be taped to another wiring harness near the emergency brake pedal. I have attached an installation video of a similar Tekonsha brake controller in a 2011 Nissan Pathfinder for you to have an idea of the installation in your Titan.
