  • How To Troubleshoot a Relay Which Has Power Going In But Not Coming Out
Be sure to check the connectors on your Relay # BDW42035 as to ensure everything is properly connected. On this particular relay the #85 connector is the input for battery power which goes to the switch on the #86 connector. This will activate the #87 terminal which gets power from the #30 terminal. Be sure to verify you are getting power to the switch side of the relay and the switch for the relay is not damaged. If there is no power on the switch side the relay will need replaced. Please...

  • How To Prevent Tekonsha Primus Trailer Brake Controller From Draining Vehicle Battery When Sitting
I wish I could give you an exact power draw for the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller # TK90160 but after spending 2 hours on hold with them they only said it is near 0 draw. Since it sounds like your Primus is connected directly to the battery and not a ignition powered switch you might consider adding a Relay # BDW42035 so the power going to the controller will switch off when the ignition is switched off. With any battery which sits for months at a time you really should...

  • Connecting Relay To 7-Way Charge Line Circuit To Prevent Trailer Draining Vehicle Battery While Off
To only send power to the 12 volt charge line circuit on your 2001 Chevrolet Suburban you need to add a Relay Switch # BDW42035. With this switch you will be able to connect it to an ignition circuit wire that only receives power when the ignition switch is placed in the run position. You will need to find where the 12 volt charge line is getting its power from the battery and connect the relay in line. There are 4 connections on the Relay. #30 Fused Battery Connection #85 Ground Terminal #86...

  • Parts Needed To Use Curt Echo Trailer Brake Controller On a 2008 Toyota Tacoma With T-One 118496
As you already have the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118496 on your 2008 Toyota Tacoma you will want to use the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit # ETBC7L. This will give you the 7-way you need to plug the Curt Echo # C51180 into. It also includes the wiring and circuit breaker needed to connect to your battery. This will connect directly to the battery unless you wish to connect it to the ignition with a Relay # BDW42035. This will then only provide power to the charge line when the ignition is switched...

  • Parts Needed To Replace Factory Brake Controller Wiring On a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Flat Bed
If the issue is with the wire running to the 7-way you will only need 10 gauge Wire # 10-1-1 to run from the brake controller to the 7-way. You will just cut out the factory connection and install this wire using 2 of the Butt Connectors # DW05745-5. If they are concerned about the power and ground wires you will simply need to run new wire with a Circuit Breaker # 9510 to the battery for power. If they do not want power always on for the brake controller you will also need to wire in a...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Charge Line Draining Battery On 2020 Ram 2500 When Ignition Is Switched Off
You will want to contact your local Ram dealer to determine if there is a ECU Flash which will fix the issue of the charge line sending power when the ignition is switched off. I do know this was an issue with older Ram trucks and the only way to resolve this was by installing a Relay # BDW42035 in line of the charge line. This will allow you to connect the switched side of the relay to an ignition source so power only flows through the charge line with the ignition switched on.
