How To Tell Which Curt X5 Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Adapter Is Needed For 2015 Chevy Silverado 3500
Question:
I have just purchased a 2015 Silverado 3500 HD LTZ Diesel and it has a Curt gooseneck ball installed. I have no idea which version of the gooseneck that it has in it. How do I figure out which gooseneck to 5th wheel adapter I need to order. Beyond that I would like to get this ordered ASAP and shipped so that I get it by Wednesday this week October 28 at the latest. Also, how is the truck bed protected from the rail system. I plan to add Line-X spray-in liner soon and want to be sure item will work with spray-in material. Thanks for assisting!

Was your Curt Gooseneck Hitch a dealer installed option? If so, you'd want to use the Curt X5, part # C16220. If it was aftermarket installed, I couldn't speculate which model you have. If you could provide any part numbers visible on the underside of the hitch, that would help me identify it. The other X5 adapter, part # C16210 is compatible with Curt Double-Lock, Flip and Store gooseneck hitches.
The X5 is designed with a tolerance to make it compatible with a normally applied spray-on bed liner. Having an 'extra thick' coat would prevent the X5 from dropping far enough down to secure in the hitch.
Once installed, the X5 will provide you with industry standard bed rails. Keep in mind that the adapter has a 20K capacity.
