Towing Recommendations with a Toyota Prius
Question:
I have a 2012 Toyota Prius V and a Vespa LX50. Can you offer a solution for hitched onto my Prius like Pro Series Transporter Hitch Cargo Carrier?

When I researched the weight of your Vespa LX50 it exceeds the Class 1 hitch tongue weight that would be compatible with a cargo carrier. An alternative would be to tow your Vespa behind your vehicle using a utility trailer.
Although Toyota doesn't recommend towing with your vehicle, if you choose to do it anyway here is an option I can offer you since the recommended towing weight on the hitch is higher.
I would recommend the Draw-Tite brand hitch # 24847 and drawbar # 3593. We offer a utility trailer # K2MMT5X7 that would be able to haul your load. If you get this trailer you would need also purchase a wiring harness the # 118610 is a custom to fit your vehicle, this allows you to have power run to the trailers taillights. You would also need to purchase some accessories to allow your Vespa to be towed properly in the trailer. I recommend the Rack'Em Manufacturing Removable Wheel Chock # RA-17 this will fit your tire and hold the Vespa in place while the tow straps # EM05729 and D-rings # MMP543 secure it to the trailer. The final connection piece from the car to the trailer would be with a 2" ball # 19258 to connect the trailers coupler to the vehicle.
