Adding a 7-Way Trailer Connector and Brake Controller to a 2016 Kia Sorento
Question:
Can I convert flat connector on 2016 kia sorento 6 cylinder to a bladed 7 way connector? the trailer I will be pulling has electric brakes and a flat bladed 7 way connector

You can install a 7-Way trailer connector and brake controller in your 2016 Kia Sorento. You will need 2 parts. For the 7-Way you will need # ETBC7 which comes with the 7-Way (allows use of both the 4-Way and 7-Way), and the wiring and accessories needed to hardwire in the brake controller.
The other part needed is the brake controller itself. I recommend the P2 # 90885. This is a proportional brake controller that applies the trailer brakes in proportion to how much your Sorento is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces brake wear and tear on the trailer and Sorento.
