Can Brophy D-Rings be Drilled to Allow Water to Drain Out
Question:
I bought eight of these with backing plates to actually use on an open car hauler. But there are no drain holes. I know designed for enclosed trailers but if you design with drain holes, I think would be effective for open use. Your opinion please.

Expert Reply:
Since you already have the D-rings # RR06 you could drill a couple of small 1/16 inch or smaller holes at the lowest part of each ring housing to allow water to drain out. The D-rings are zinc-plated to resist corrosion so that will also help.
