Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for a 2016 Kia Sorento
Question:
I have recently purchased a 2016 Kia Sorento and would like to install a trailer hitch and wiring harness. My question is how would I know if my vehicle is tow ready so I will know which harness to purchase?

If your 2016 Kia Sorento has the tow package most likely it will have a trailer hitch and wiring already installed on it from the factory. You can also check the original window sticker for the vehicle to see if it had it or not. Also you can take the VIN of the vehicle to a Kia dealer and they will know.
For a hitch you would want the part # 75908 as it has been confirmed as a fit for your vehicle.
If you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not include a ball mount with the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, check out the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
For trailer wiring you would want the part # C56256 for if you do not have the tow package or part # C56332 for if you do have it. However, either way the # C56256 will fit your vehicle.
