Recommended Hitch Mounted Hanging 4-Bike Carrier For Toyota Highlander
Question:
Looking to buy a 4 bike 2inch hitch rack. My highlander have a Toyota installed 2inch hitch that extends 3inch out through the bumper thus looking for a hitch that the upright bar is closer to the center hitch pin The hitch has 4 holes, the 1st 2 are 1 1/4inch inside about 2inch apart from bumper and you can place a pin, then i see 2 more holes 4 1/4foot inside end of bumper about 1inch out but no access to place pin so only one of those self adjusting pin might work. Any recommendations of what might work best for my hitch ? Thanks so much

The bike rack I recommend for your Highlander is the Thule Apex, part # TH9025XT.
This bike rack will fit either a 1-1/4 or a 2 inch hitch and can hold 4 bikes weighing up to 37.5 lbs each. This bike rack holds the bikes secure, and it has folding arms that make it easy to store when not in use. This bike rack also has a locking hitch pin and a cable lock that secures the bikes to the carrier.
If you are planning on carrying bikes with alternative frames like kids bikes or women's bikes I recommend using an adapter bar like part # 64005. This attaches between the seat post and the handlebar stem and allows the bike to be carried more level in the carrier while providing additional ground clearance.
