Can a Sidewinder be Used with B&W Companion in 2015 Ram 3500 with Factory Prep Package
Question:
Now there seems to be mixed opinions about the Reese Sidewinder and the BandW Companion hitch but they seem to be about the hitch that goes in the center goose neck hole. I just bought a 2015 Ram 3500 Mega cab and short box. The BandW hitch actually mounts in 4 holes spread out wide almost to the wheel wells. That would resolve the twisting action that was found on the earlier version that goes down the center hole. Any opinions or experience on this combination would be appreciated.

We learned a long time ago that as long as you have the B&W Companion hitch that fits in the 4 pucks, like what you have, and not just in the gooseneck ball hole then you can use a Sidewinder. the issue seems to be that B&W hitch instructions/manuals say not to use a Sidewinder.
But I spoke with B&W and that statement only shows up because all the heads of the hitches are the same. But if you have the version with the 4 attachment points it is perfectly fine to use a Sidewinder. They just need to update their instructions!
So for your 2015 Ram 3500 with the factory prep package you can use # BWRVK3600. For a Sidewinder I would need to know the manufacturer and model of the pin box. This information should be on a sticker or plate on the pin box itself. I have included a link to our Sidewinder help article for you.
