How to Carry a Kayak on a 1994 Ford F-150 Short Bed

Since the roof rack options for a 1994 Ford F-150 have such a narrow bar spread and thus cannot support a kayak carrier I recommend going with a ladder rack. If your truck has the 6-1/2 ft foot bed length you can use the Thule TracRac TracONE Ladder Rack w/ Cantilever - Fixed Mount - 800 lbs - Silver # TH27000XT-EX. This is a no drill ladder rack that also extends over the cab for extra stability for your kayak.
Then all you will need is a set of bow and stern tie downs, # Y04031.
