Kayak Carrier Recommendation for 2014 Chevrolet Equinox
Question:
I have a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. I would like to know what I can use to transport two kayaks. I have the racks on top that run front to back, and that is it. I am looking for a cost effective way to transport the kayaks. They are SunDolphin 8foot kayaks. I would like something that isnt going to mar the top of the vehicle as it is a leased vehicle, and I dont want to pay for any damage. Thank you so much for your assistance.

For your 2014 Chevrolet Equinox, I recommend the Thule SquareBars # TH712100 with the foot pack # TH710401. These crossbars attach to your vehicle's raised side rails with a rubber clamp. These square bars are an economic option from a well known and respected brand.
In order to carry two kayaks on your roof rack, I recommend Thule's The Stacker # TH830. This carrier provides a support for your kayaks to sit on their sides on top of your vehicle. The carrier comes with tie-down straps for one kayak. To secure your second kayak you will need an additional set of tie-down straps, like # TH523, and an additional set of bow and stern tie downs # 853-5466 and # 853-5464.
For easier tie-down locations, you can use the hood loops # MPG308. These loops will hook under your hood and rear hatch to provide attachment points for your bow and stern tie-downs without requiring you find an attachment point under your vehicle.
I have attached a review video of The Stacker for you.
