Why Do Air Ride Helper Springs have to be Deflated if Lifting a 2008 Dodge Ram by the Frame

After installing I read somewhere that if vehicle is to be lifted by frame deflate air bags completly. Is this correct and if so why?

You are correct. If you have air helper springs on your 2008 Dodge Ram, it is recommended that the vehicle not be lifted by the frame. The reason is that because of the way the springs are attached to the truck, lifting the truck by the frame could over-extend them. This could cause damage to the springs. Deflating them would allow them to expand more than if they were inflated. I have included a link to the instructions below.
