Although I do not have any reports of the Longview Custom Towing Mirrors, # LVT-3100C, scratching the painted mirrors on the Ram trucks anytime two surfaces come in contact with each other, there is a risk of damage. Here are a few tips that can considerably reduce the risk of scratching the paint on your vehicle mirrors. 1) Make sure the surface of the vehicle mirrors and the inside of the towing mirror housing is clean and free of any debris. A good coat of quality car wax applied to the painted portion of your mirrors will also provide extra protection. 2) Installation instructions should be precisely followed. 3) Remove the mirrors when not in use.
I have included a short video for you.
