This trunk mount bike rack is designed to work with SUVs and hatchbacks. This bike rack features anti-sway cradles to prevent bike-to-bike and bike- to-vehicle contact. If you are looking for a bike rack that will not come into contact with your vehicle at all, I recommend a hitch mount bike rack. If you don't have a hitch on your Captiva, the Draw-Tite # 75556 will work well. The SportRack Pathway Deluxe 3 Bike Rack # SR2703 will allow your to carry 3 bikes and also features top plates with hand knobs can be moved up or down to accommodate different bike frame sizes. If you plan on carrying bikes with alternative or step-though frames that lack a tradition top frame bar, I recommend using an adapter bar, like this one by Hollywood Racks # HRBA-PRO.
