Capacity of Curt Class III # C13119 Trailer Hitch Versus Capacities of 2012 Honda CR-V
Question:
I see you guys are talking about tounge weight on the part#13555 is 350 lbs. Is that the max tounge wieght for a 2012 honda crv? I think i read something different. is that your spec or the manufacture spec?

For a 2012 Honda CRV, you'd want to use the Curt Class III hitch, part # C13119. The Curt # 13555 fits 2007-2011 CRV models only, and wouldn't be a fit for your 2012 model.
The hitch itself carries a 3500 lb towing/350 lb tongue weight capacity, but these capacities will be limited by the capacities of the vehicle itself, since the capacities of your CRV are lower. You'll want to abide by the capacity of the lowest rated component. According to Honda, the maximum towing capacity of the vehicle is 1500 lbs, with the maximum recommended tongue weight capacity being 10 percent of that, which is 150 lbs. Even though the hitch itself has a higher capacity than the vehicle, you'll need to abide by the limits of the vehicle.
You can view the installation instructions for the hitch and an install video by clicking the provided links.
If you're planning on using the hitch for towing, you'll also need the following to complete your towing system:
Trailer wiring harness with 4-pole trailer connector, part # C56158
Ball mount, part # C45230
1-7/8 inch trailer ball # C40051 or 2 inch trailer ball, part # 40038.
