Battery Drain When Flat Towing 2015 Ford Explorer
Question:
A guy installed my Road master all terrain tow kit and it seems to work well for towing purposes. My problem is that my battery goes dead every day. I have flol owed the factory instructions to place the ignition in the accessory mode with the transmission in neutral. I am on a 60 day rv trip and I cannot make it through a 200 mile trip without draining the battery. Any suggestions?

The first thing you will want to do is check the owner's manual for your vehicle. Sounds like you either need to disconnect the battery or pull a fuse(s). If the manual says you have to pull a fuse/fuses you can bypass this by installing a Roadmaster # RM76511 Fuse Bypass System. If the manual says you must disconnect the battery you can use the Roadmaster - Auto Battery Disconnect, # RM-766. It is specifically designed for vehicles that have something that drains the battery while being towed. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to check out.
