Installing Trailer Tail Lights with Two Wire Connections on 4-Way Wiring

Question:

Our rear light on the trailer have only 2 wires red and white, not 3 but 2. They are Grote 5598, 7 inch. How do we install it on a 4 pins electrical pattern? Thanks! :

They are single function lights, so they can be used as running lights or stop/turn but not both. So for your trailer to be legal, you will need to run two on each side, one for the running light (brown wire of your 4-way) and one for the turn/stop light (green or yellow wire of your 4-way depending on side of the trailer). You will attach the power wire (green, yellow, or brown) to the red wire of your light. The white wire on your light will go to ground, so you will attach it to the metal frame ensuring you have a bare metal to metal connection.

If you want to have a single light on each side of your trailer, you may want to upgrade to the LED Trailer Stop/Turn/Tail Light - 10 Diode - Sealed - Reflex Flange - 4" Round - Red # STL43RBX for a surface mount or # STL43RB for a recessed mount. You will need the 3 wire pigtail for these lights # A45PB.
