We actually have 3 different fifth wheel tailgates for your 2008 Silverado.
I recommend the Stromberg Carlson 4000 Series Louvered Tailgate, part # VGM-07-4000. This tailgate has built-in louvers that reduce wind drag and also features a keyed mechanism that locks the gate in the closed position. We also have the louvered tailgate insert, part # VI-4000. This fits your tailgate when you are not towing the fifth wheel.
For a less expensive option I recommend part # VGM-07-100. This is the Stromberg Carlson Series 100 Tailgate that is made of heavy-duty steel.
