How Much of the Fascia is Trimmed to Install a Trailer Hitch on a 2006 Saturn View Redline Edition
Question:
interested in this product. Saw another reviewer mention he had to do some work to make it work on his 06 Vue Redline edition. They have a lowered bigger bumper for look only. Any idea what kind of work is involved? any pictures of the completed work? I saw the 06 Vue video on youtube huge help!! but it doesnt show the redline version and how it will look on my trim version. thanks!

I spoke to my contact at Curt about installing Hitch # 13591 on your 2006 Saturn Vue Redline. She state that if you measure from the bottom of the bumper beam down 2 inches, that is where the top of the receiver tube will be and that should give you some idea of what will need to be trimmed. The hole will also be about 2-1/2 inches wide.
To perform this trimming, I recommend using an electric rotary tool of some kind. If you must use hand saw, it will have to have very fine teeth. Otherwise, you run the risk of tearing up the fascia. I have included a link to the instructions for the Curt hitch below.
