What material are the T-End Straps, used to secure this bike carrier to the front crossbar, made from? Are they a rubber coated steel or a plastic? Im just concerned about the security of the system if they are, in fact, plastic. Security to both to the crossbar after a few years of UV light on the plastic and theft security. Thanks!

The front strap of the Rhino-Rack MountainTrail Rooftop Bike Carrier # RBC035 that you referenced is a rubber coated stainless steel strap. They will hold up for a very long time.
