Using 2 Friction Sway Control Bars on a Reese System Weight Distribution System with Only 1 Hole
Question:
I have a 28 foot trailer with an older Reese WD hitch, straight ended trunion bars apparently not compatible with the dual cam systems and only one mounting hole for the ball for a sway control hitch. I see two sway control bars are recommended in this case, but I would rather not go to the expense of replacing everything if I dont have to. Are there any options that safely allow me to use my existing equipment?

It sounds like your Reese weight distribution head is similar to # RP58167. Pretty much the only thing you could do to avoid getting a whole new system is to have a sway control tab welded to the head of your system. For a tab you could use # 3442 or # C45822. Welding would have to be performed by a qualified professional welder and it would void any warranty on the weight distribution system.
