Hitch Recommendation for a 2014 Honda Odyssey for Transporting Motorcycle

Question:

I have a 2014 Honda Odyssey LX. Do you have a hitch receiver that can handle a motorcycle carrier that will probably weigh around 500-600lbs? Can this be customized? or my van wont be able to handle the weight? Thanks.

The highest tongue weight capacity hitch we offer for your 2014 Honda Odyssey is the Draw Tite Hitch part # 75270. This hitch has a 675 lb tongue weight capacity and would work well for towing a trailer that has your motorcycle loaded on it, but would not work to support the weight of your motorcycle plus carrier that is 500 to 600 lbs.

A small trailer would be perfect for what you are looking to do.

If you plan on doing some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.

If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.

For trailer wiring you would want the Tow Ready Harness part # 118521. I attached an install video for more info for you to check out as well.
