Prodigy P3 Brake Controller Installation in 2010 Dodge Ram 1500
Question:
I would like to put the P-3 in the spot where the factory unit goes. My truck only has the one plug meaning I cannot install the Mopar unit. is there a video that shows how to install the P3 where the factory unit would go?

The excellent Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller # 90195 is intended for mounting with its included bracket as shown in the linked installation video. This unit's size and shape will prevent it from fitting properly in the small recess in your dash where the OEM brake controller goes.
So long as your Ram has a factory 7-way at the back bumper all you need to wire in the P3 is harness # 3021-P, which connects between the controller and the under-dash ports. Dodge did move this connector around for various model years but the video shows you both locations where it is likely to be.
If your truck has no factory trailer connector then you will need a brake controller installation kit # ETBC7 and also a 4-pole wiring harness # 119178KIT which will isolate and protect your truck wiring from power demands from the trailer. A linked video and article illustrate ETBC7 installation.
