Recommended Setup when Flat Towing a 2015 GMC Canyon with a 2008 Fleetwood Excursion
Question:
I have a 2015 GMC Canyon and I want to either get a harness to adapt the lights or install a diode kit. Im a bit unsure as to what I need to use the existing lights on the Canyon. Im pulling it with a 2008 Fleetwood Excursion. thanks

In order to flat tow your 2015 GMC Canyon, I recommend checking your owners manual for any flat towing restrictions or procedures. With that said, you will need 5 components to complete your flat towing setup - base plates, tow bar, safety cables, tow bar wiring and a supplemental braking system.
Since you are needing tail light wiring, I would go with the Tow Ready tail light isolating diode system with 4-pole connector # TR118821.
To complete your flat towing setup you will also need baseplates, tow bar, safety cables and a supplemental braking system.
I. The baseplates you will need are the Blue Ox twist lock attachment tow bar # BLU93FR.
II. The tow bar I recommend is the Blue Ox Alpha motor home mount # BX7380 which has a 6,500 pound weight capacity. No ball mount is necessary as it will slide into your hitch on your 2008 Fleetwood Excursion. The safety cables will be included.
III. Safety cables will be included with the Blue Ox Alpha tow bar # BX7365.
IV. I also recommend the Air Force One # SM99243 because your motorhome has air brakes. Systems not designed for air brakes can cause false braking in your Canyon.
I included a couple videos and informative articles for you too.
