Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2001 Mercedes E-Class
Question:
Can you provide installation instructions, maybe with pictures, for a 2001 Mercedes e320? Also, I see two different styles...what are advantages of each?

There are 2 different hitches available for the 2001 Mercedes E-Class. Hitch # C11830 fits E320 station wagon models. And Curt hitch # C11744 is designed for sedan models. So you would just choose the hitch based on which version you have, station wagon or sedan.
We haven't installed either hitch on a vehicle yet so we do not have videos or our own pictures. But I can link the instructions for you so you can see what is involved in the installation process.
If you plan on doing some towing the ball mount for either hitch is # C45521. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. For trailer wiring use # C59236.
If you plan on using the hitch for accessories like a bike rack or cargo carrier then you have to make sure that the accessory is rated for use on a Class I hitch and for bike racks you are limited to 2 bikes maximum.
Also, to be in compliance with the Curt warranty requirements if you use the hitch with a bike rack or cargo carrier you must use stabilization strap # 18050.
